Dining on Maui

One of the great benefits of traveling is being able to experience different flavors and different cuisines. Seafood, barbeque, organic, vegetarian, raw or boiled, there is an unlimited combination of flavors your taste buds will experience. Here are some locations to get you started:

Leilani’s on the Beach is nestled on Kaanapali beach. Open daily from 10 am – 9 pm, serving fresh seafood prepared island style with a variety of local favorites including calamari strips, ahi poke, Korean pork ribs, garlic shrimp pasta, and more. They also have a keiki (children’s) menu and drinks.

Honu Oceanside is located in Lahaina, with an oceanside location. When you live on an island and have access to some of the freshest seafood, expect it would be menu options in addition to fresh locally sourced vegetables, roasted short ribs, braised veal ossobuco, and so much more. They even have a unique seafood boil called Maui Steamer Pots. They do all the work of a seafood boil.

Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop is located between Maalaea and Lahaina at 820 Olowalu Village Road. This roadside dinner has a charming appeal of casual family-style dining in a place back in time. Like many diners, there are the standard comfort food options such as mac and cheese or chicken pot pie, but this is Maui so, you will also find fresh and sustainable ingredients in their ahi, salads, and sandwiches they serve as well. They have baked goods available, but their pies are the star of the show;  chocolate haupia pie, Olowalu lime pie, banana or coconut cream pie.

Aloha Mixed Plate: This is one of those places where if you want to eat and experience as a local, this is a must stop. Unique to the Hawaii dining scene is what locals call mixed plate. This place is authentic with fresh Hawaiian-style cuisine served up with lively music near the ocean, visitors and locals are sure to enjoy it all. Favorite dishes include mochiko chicken, poke bowl, Kalua pig, fried rice, coconut shrimp, local moco, and pineapple upside down cake. All this great food with a Hawaiian style vibe.

Coco Deck Lahaina, Kitchen + Bar: Delight your taste buds to dishes described as fusion of Mexican, local, American, and seafood dishes that are prepared by Chef Alvin Savella. Unwind and enjoy the ocean views in a family-friendly sports bar atmosphere. They are open for lunch and dinner or stop by for happy hour.
